DWTA 8‑Week Intensive Bootcamp designed specifically for BECE JHS graduates (July 14 – September 17, 2025):
Part 1: Core Foundation (Weeks 1–4)
All participants will cover the following modules:
- **Information, Digital & Computer Literacy**
– Basic computer operation & software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, browsing)
– How to research online and verify sources
– Digital citizenship and safety - Cyber Security Fundamentals
– Intro to online safety, passwords, phishing, malware, safe browsing - Digital Marketing
– Basics of social media marketing, SEO, content creation
Part 2: Elective Specializations (Weeks 1–8)
From Week 1, you’ll choose three electives, working on them throughout the full 8 weeks:
- Computer Programming – Intro to coding logic and simple languages
- Graphic, Web & UI Design – Principles of design and basic tools (e.g., Photoshop/design tools, UI concepts)
- Animation, Video & Sound Editing – Basics of animation, editing video/audio
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Introduction to AI concepts, tools, and real-world applications
- Welding & Metal-Works – Fundamentals of metalworking techniques and welding safety
- Carpentry & Wood-Works – Hands-on woodworking, tool handling, and basic construction
- Plumbing & Electricals – Core plumbing systems and basic residential electrical work
What You’ll Achieve
By the end of Week 4, you’ll be confident in:
- Computer usage and internet literacy
- Recognizing cybersecurity threats
- Digital marketing basics
By Week 8, with your three electives, you’ll have:
- Practical projects in coding, design, or editing

DWTA 8-Week Bootcamp Course Outline
This is the detailed 8-week study course outline for the DWTA BECE (JHS Graduate) IT/Computer Bootcamp, broken into Core Modules (Weeks 1–4) and Elective Tracks (Weeks 1–8).
Core Study Modules (All Students)
1. Information, Digital & Computer Literacy
- Introduction to computers: hardware, operating systems, file types, and file management
- Basic typing and navigation skills, email setup
- Creating folders, managing USB drives, navigating an OS
- Microsoft Office Suite:
- Word (letters, formatting, reports)
- Excel (basic formulas)
- PowerPoint

- Internet & research skills:
- Web browsers, search engines, evaluating sources, using bookmarks

2. Cyber Security Fundamentals
- Introduction to cybersecurity: importance and real-life threats (spam, phishing, malware)
- Creating strong passwords and using two-factor authentication (2FA)
- Common cyber threats: phishing, ransomware, spyware, viruses – how to spot and avoid them
- Personal and data privacy: online safety, social media risks, digital hygiene
3. Digital Marketing
- What is digital marketing? How brands use the internet and online platforms
- Social media basics: setting up a page, content ideas (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
- Visual branding: designing simple posts using Canva
- SEO basics: what it is, how to write blog content or simple ad copy
Elective Tracks (Choose 3)
1. Computer Programming
- Introduction to logic, algorithms, and problem-solving
- Programming basics using Scratch or Python: variables, loops, conditionals
- Building simple projects (e.g., quiz app, calculator)
- Final project: Group or individual mini-software with presentation
2. Graphic, Web & UI Design
- Principles of design: color theory, typography, layout
- Design tools: Canva, Figma, or Photopea basics
- Web design fundamentals: introduction to HTML and CSS
- Final project: Create a personal web portfolio or business homepage
3. Animation, Video & Sound Editing
- Introduction to animation principles and video formats
- Editing tools: CapCut, Audacity, OpenToonz (or similar)
- Edit video and sound for a skit, vlog, or music promo
- Final project: Animated story or video advertisement with background music
4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fundamentals
- What is AI? History and real-life applications (e.g., voice assistants)
- Machine Learning vs. AI, datasets, using simple AI tools like Teachable Machine
- Ethical use of AI, automation, chatbots, image generation (e.g., ChatGPT, Canva AI)
- Final project: Create a basic chatbot or AI-generated art project
5. Welding & Metal-Works
- Safety gear, introduction to welding materials and tools
- Basic welding techniques: arc welding, cutting, joining metals
- Hands-on project: create items like a metal frame, bracket, or hook
- Final project: Welded decorative piece or simple metal stool
6. Carpentry & Wood-Works
- Introduction to wood types and basic hand tools (saw, chisel, hammer)
- Skills: measuring, cutting, nailing, and assembling small wood items
- Build items like a shelf, birdhouse, or tray
- Final project: Construct a small wooden stool or wall shelf
7. Plumbing & Electricals
- Introduction to home plumbing systems and basic electrical concepts
- Safe use of plumbing tools and electrical equipment
- Practice tasks: fix a leaky tap, change a socket, connect a light bulb
- Final project: Build a working light circuit or functional plumbing demo
Assessment
- Weekly Assignments: Basic tasks in each module
- Mini Projects: One per elective by Week 6
- Final Project Week 8: Presentation or demo of one chosen project
